A financial services professional with more than 20 years of experience, Norman “Norm” Gretzinger is the co-founder and managing director of EG Capital Group, LLC, a private equity firm based in New York City that works with major national businesses. Aside from his professional endeavors, Norm Gretzinger contributes to various philanthropic causes focused on youth development, such as the Bronxville School Foundation in New York and Schools for Salone in Sierra Leone.
A nonprofit foundation, Schools for Salone works with partners around the globe with the shared goal of rebuilding schools, educating and empowering youth, improving socioeconomic conditions, and creating opportunities for the developing nation. Schools for Salone builds schools, trains teachers, and conducts literacy programs and campaigns to give children a better future in a country that is recovering from the effects of war and violence.
One of its programs, the Books for Children Campaign, is expected to raise enough money to provide books to the newly constructed Mamboma Library. Constructed by the foundation, the library will serve as a “study house” for primary and secondary schools in the area.
